Still Love

After all these years
After all this time
Up the hills, through the valleys
Babe, you’re still mine

I remember the day
When we started this life
We vowed before God
As husband and wife

To love each other
Through the bad and the good
And stay faithful as only
True lovers would

It wasn’t easy
To love on our own
There were times only God’s Love
Survived in our home

But through each year
I remember well
As we trusted in Him
Our own love would tell

Of the victory there
When two become one
When Love still remains
Through the grace of the Son

Poet's note:
This was written in May 2008 for a twenty-fifth anniversary celebration.  Still Love was to be the follow up to my first book of poetry "Still Broken.  All I got out of that title was this poem.
