If you find me, forgive me

I am lost

Right now

Lost to you

Let's not waste time

Casting blame

Time changes things and people

But please don't give up the search

I don't want to be lost for long

So please

Love me and

Keep looking

And if you find me

Forgive me

Poet's Note:

Most times the poem creates the title, but as is the case this time, the title created the poem.  So may people are lost, lost to each other.  Years pass and the reasons are washed away like fading memories.  But the space created is still there and the loss is still felt.

There are so many people I am missing.  I waste time wondering who is to blame.  Could I have done something different or been someone different so as not to lose that person?  The truth is… maybe.  But what does that help.  What if I am to blame?  What if I was not good for that person that I am missing?  What if they are better off in life for having let me go?

Life is too short to be wasted in fear, bitterness, anger and guilt.

So to the ones "I am lost to" right now … "If you find me, forgive me"
